“A disappointing end to the Pride s attempt at capturing the CCC Aesir Open title.
The Pride had a rough ride to the finals. Facing Orcs, HEs, CDs and now Dwarfs. Enduring 6 Cas against the CDs, the rats needed to hire a new linerat and 3 freebooters just to field a team.
Despite this I was still very excited about the match. A classic Strength vs Speed match, between two good coaches and two of the top CCC points teams.
Alas, the game did not go well. Virus sidelined my best player (joining the other 3 MNG victims). Then a Blitz on the opening kickoff. Then I failed to knock down a dwarf until Turn 3 (at least 10 consecutive unsuccessful blocks).
Pretty much everything that could go wrong did and Falling Down smashed rats to and fro. The rest of the match became academic... the Pride did what they could, but with 1 rat left on the pitch at the end of the 2nd half that wasn t much.
Congrats to celas! We ll rematch another time under different circumstances. As an added bonus the Pride sustained no permanent damage and plan to make a comeback in future CCC tourneys.”
“I echo bampf's comments. The match up seemed to favor me based on numbers and TS, and the early luck put it over the edge.
I hope we can rematch, or better yet, perhaps have some rat on rat action in future tournies. We need some more agile/speed teams to compete in this great tourney.
Falling Down (1993) is proud to hold on to the overall CCC points league after this month's scoring.”
