“The Kartoon Killers faced a tough game for the third of the season against the speed of Cpt Fluffy's cold blooded Targzissians. A terrible start for the valiant Kartoon superheroes with a fumbled catch giving the lizzies an early TD, not the opening we were looking for...
Another stalled drive and a desperate sprint for the end zone eventually rewarded the KK's with a comeback TD but they were unable to prevent the lightning-quick lizzies from scoring again before half time.

The Killers had to dig deep in defence for the second half and were rewarded with a successful blitz by up and coming blitzer Roger Ramjet which allowed the ball to pop free a scant 2 squares from the KK's endzone.

Some frantic scramble play ensued with the ball gradually moving towards the halfway line with some quick play from the humans, but they were let down by some terrible ball handling and catching skills and the lizzies were able to regain possession.

Coach Nosebiter's thinly veiled threats to the team of an impending visit to the back room for a 'hands-on' team talk led the Killers players to dig deep, and after a heavy blocking turn the casualties began to rack up in the humans favor.
With team captain Batfink successfully sacking the skink ball carrier, lineman Henry's Cat was able to (eventually, after another failed catch attempt) hand off the ball to Bananaman to run in for the draw.

Though not the win the Killer's were looking for, and perhaps not the result the Targzissians were after either as they dominated for much of the match, but the 2 points will leave both Coachs within striking distance of promotion and the KK's sitting in joint second at the top of the table.
