However, this competitiveness was ended with the sudden death of John Jules, one of the Boys' star Bull Centaurs. From the position of this critical loss, the Turtles were easily able to press home their advantage for a 1-0 victory.

Had Jules stayed alive, it would have been extremely interesting to see if the Turtles could make any headway, or indeed whether the Boys could turnover the football and score.
