#2 Doombringer – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#2 Doombringer – Smashed Knee (NI)
The end of an era for team Deathwind. A misclick on turn 1 resulted in Doombringer falling to the ground...and the result was a hard boot that left him with a second niggling injury. Neither coach seemed to be on top of their game today. The Ogres constantly were bone headed and the Deathwind positional players left the pitch in a hurry leaving some non-dodging zombies and golems to get smashed to the ground.

The first half had the Ogres receiving, turn 1 and Doombringer was niggled. Turn 2, a 2d blitz takes out Deathwind for almost the entire game (he would return for the final quarter of the game). No tackle? No problem, the ogres took out one of the ghouls on turn 3 or 4 with a vicious block that badly hurt him. Very quickly, the only AG 3 player remaining was Ghast, who recently had become slower do to aging and was no faster than the fastest ogre on the field. Regardless, Ghast managed to knock down the ogre ball carrier and pick up the ball...surviving a 2d block from a blitzing ogre, Ghast scored on Turn 7. Two chances to wake up for Deathwind...left the team captain on the bench...still trying to shake off the effects of the vicious ogre blow.

With the score 1-0 and Deathwind receiving...even with only Ghast as a ball carrier, were were confident. We should not have been. The ogres blitzed and the ball landed right along the LOS. The only remaining goblin, the great gazoo charged across the LOS and caught the ball. A 3d block was a push...rerolled into a bothdown to take down the goblin...but it left Ghast stunned and the goblin only prone. The goblin prompted got up and grabbed the ball and was off towards the endzone. The zombies tried to give chance...but dodging was hard and the fouls on the ogres just hoping for a stun to free up some zombies were all ineffective. At this point one of the flesh golems was also badly hurt and things looked bad. The great gazoo scored and it was 1-1.

Deathwind finally get himself off the bench and into the game...he stunned a few ogres, caught a pass from Ghast and dodged around and through the ogre defense to race into the endzone on T16 for the win...once again Deathwind himself carrying the team to victory after a rather subpar efforrt all around.

However, the question of Doombringer is heavy on the minds of fans...with two nagging injuries is it time for him to step down and join the asst coaches?
