#8 Gertrud Gladitsch – Dead (RIP) #11 Myrtle Cook – Dead (RIP)
“Wow - SMACK PRO final, and I took a beating in order to get the win.
First half, I got the ref, and set about happily fouling. Weirdly, I actually did less damage than my opponent, as every time I fouled, it took the eye off him, and he got a free one back, and they almost always hurt more. My one significant KO was that of his tackle, blodge Wolf, and happily he didn't wake up again for the rest of the match.
Second half, and by turn 2 I was down to 9 V 10 players, no Zara, Wizard gone, an St4 blodge dead (I'd used the apo earlier to get her niggled frame to the match!), and I looked in a lot of trouble. Every time I made a hit on Bud's blodge Ghoul ball carrier, he refused to go down.
Eventually, as my numbers dwindled, I decided I had no hope if the game went to OT and swarmed the ball. This caused a miscued handoff to a Wolf in the rain, and happily we managed to surround and diffuse as time expired.
Great game, hard victory, and recovery needed for the Faries! Cheers to Bud, was fun. ”
“Perfectly described by Purple. Lost the match due to the knockout of my tackle wolf and the other wolf who wasn`t able to catch the handoff in the rain (although he rolled two 2s, so the rain didn`t matter). I was able to fight back luckily with my fouls in the first half, but from then on no amazon left the pitch as i recall and then the wolf dropped the ball when i was going to score. Dodging with the ghoul would have been a turnover too (two 2s).
Cheers to Purple nethertheless. It has been a cracking game of Bloodbowl!”
