Oh it was going so well for the cult.

Started badly, as the cult's legions of fans were too busy exchanging bodily fluids to stop the Buccaneers' fans from attacking the ref, but once that was out of their system everything went swimmingly. Two of the beastmen, rather disgustly, decided to stay close to each other and led to a badly formed cage which allowed the buccaneers to free the ball. The cult poured eagerly into the scramble, but neither side could make anything from it.

The second half belonged to Kassandra, now the Cult's first Cheerleader. Bouncing around naked and covered in green paint, she managed to distract the Buccaneers' second thrower to such an extent that eventually someone had to step in and take over from him. Fortunately, Kassandra's cavorting had held up the Buccaneer's drive long enough that they couldn't reach the cult's endzone.

This was a really fun game, and gras to Azhran on not loosing his temper (noticeably) after his Sure Hands thrower failed to pick up the ball in 0TZ three or four turns on the trot.

Such a close game with some funny moments. In the first half the Buccaneers were always on the back foot. Some resolute defending manged to eventually get the ball loose but they couldn't really get it secure. In the end Erl had to lead from the front. After collecting the ball and spending a turn attempting to keep it from the Cult he dodged away from his pursuers and threw a pass to the waiting Vertgun. This bit of luck allowed the Buccaneers to hold up the Cult for the rest of the half and at least prevent a score.

Second half and the Buccaneers set up for their trademark drive. Unfortunately both Rigpol and Ganak had other ideas. First turn and Rigpol is set up by about half his team for what should have been an easy three dice block. Rigpol however really didn't have his heart in the game and proceeded to send himself sprawling with first a set of triple skulls, swiftly followed by a re-roll to triple both down. Luckily in his eagerness to hit the deck Rigpol appeared to land on his hapless foe, killing him in the process! Luckily the Cults apoth was on hand and it seems the dead beast just bled rather a lot and gave us all the wrong impression.

The rest of the half was really Ganaks turn to shine. With the ball in a good position and surrounded by his mates he really couldn't see the need to pick it up off the ground, despite a duo of the Cults beastmen hunting him down. Three turns spent fumbling all attempts to get the ball in his mits and Erl had had enough. Relegating Ganak to goblin watching he swanned in, grabbed the ball and ran it into a pocket. Unfortunately due to Ganaks antics there really wasn't time to get the ball forward for a score and the Buccaneers had to settle for keeping the ball away from those nasty Cult players.

Good game, if a little frustrating for us both at times. Lucan was a great coach to play, looking forward to a rematch!
