If you just tuned in, the match started with a big setback for the Champions when star catcher Lamion knocked himself out on a failed dodge and stayed in the dugout for most of the match. Still, the elves got on the board early after Altaron lobbed a pass to their other catcher, Ranarion, for his first career touchdown.

The orcs got the equalizer after star Dragon Warrior Thalion failed to go for it to blitz their ballcarrier. Just before that, the Dumm Zacks' goblin, Shaker, had been ejected for repeatedly fouling a lineelf. Nobody understood quite why he did that, as the ball was nowhere nearby.

The Champions still had a chance to make it 2-1 before half time, but Thalion went down on a 1-on-1 block in an attempt to get into the end zone.

In the second half, the orcs pushed through the wide zone with the ball, but Thalion knocked their ballcarrier down, the ball went out of the pitch, and was thrown back in right into the hands of Champions thrower Altaron! But could the elves capitalize on that? Some of them ran forward to get into receiving positions, others went to cover Altaron. Fezzwech was faster and knocked him down, but then Telamon came running back and disposed of him. Unfortunately, Galadron tripped when trying to get away from the ogre before Altaron could seize the ball again. That proved fatal, since the orcs were now able to pick it up and score.

After the kickoff, the Champions managed to maneuver a few players downfield - despite a blitz! - and Altaron immediately tried to throw the pass into the opposing end zone. But alas! he had underestimated the distance and couldn't reach his teammate. Fortunately, Loriel was available to receive it, but unfortunately, he was largely uncovered. Urazz promptly attacked him, and even though the elf managed to stay on his feet, the blitzer could knock the ball out of his hands.

And here we are, ladies and gentlemen, the match is almost over, and Telamon is still standing in the end zone waiting for the ball, which is still lying where Loriel dropped it, and orcs and elves are engaged in a ferocious battle over it. Here comes Knurrazz, he takes a hit at Loriel. The elf stumbles backwards, but stays on his feet. BUT WHAT'S THAT? He accidently kicks the ball aside, and it's now in a much better position for the elves! Thalion jumps to his feet in the middle of the scrum, single-handedly tying up four opponents! Loriel hurls himself at Fezzwech, and the orc goes down! And here's Ranarion! He leaps at the ball, snatches it up and runs! He runs! No orc there to stop him! He tosses the ball to Telamon! AND HE SCORES! HE SCORES! Just seconds before the final whistle, the game is tied! What a finish! The fans are ecstatic! A great comeback by the Champions, who hadn't always been blessed by luck in this match. That should give them some confidence!
