The first game of the season was a tight one, with the Lions showing that they have _potential_ to punch above their weight by almost pulling off what would've been a thrilling draw, admittedly against an under strength ADU.
An early drive by the Lions looked the goods as they managed to push past the dwarves for an early touchdown, however they left too much time and the dwarves managed a hard fought TD before half time. At this stage casualties wer beginning to make their mark with three Lions off the field, including captain Brandon Gendry, who was suffering from concussion.
The second half was a tough encounter and the Lions looked a chance until they started losing players left right and centre. they never gave up however, and managed to nearly secure the draw due to a heroic effort by Bertram Rotchild.

Votes
3 - Tumultuous Tony: He was too strong for the Lions, and constantly caused problems where someone of less stature would've been inadequate. 16 blocks, a cas, multiple KO's says it all.
2 - Raging Rick: For receiving the block that defeated the Lions. His defensive casualty led to an absolute mauling for the Lions next turn, and it was whilst defending the ball.
1 - Displeased Dan: Two TD's deserved a mention.

A tight game to mark the start of what is hopefully a big season for the ADU. Two players mng from last season and the greatest handicap meant that they were down to 11 players for the game... And didn't lose a single one. Things were pretty even first half, but the second half opened up as the Lions' numbers started to dwindle and some effective chain pushing by the ADU saw them prevail. Their stall tactics almost saw them face a draw after some heroic last ditch defense, but Displeased Dan showed he was up to the task and ready to move out from Bitter Bob's shadow.

Votes

3 - Bertram Rothild, 11 blocks and almost managed to snag his team a draw.
2 - Sloysius Marble, Scored a good touchdown and managed to be a thorn in my side most of the game.
1 - Maximillian Humphreys, solid team game with 8 blocks.
