#4 Jerry Rice – Dead (RIP) #6 Robert Gallery – Dead (RIP)
“Well well... What was expected to be a classy fight between skilled Human teams, turned into a nightmare for Raiders.
Daniele "Bubba" Comel killed poor Robert Gallery on his first block. Gladly apothecary rushed in and saved him. On 2nd turn, Bubba took another shot, this time killing Robert for good.
During Raiders earlier turn Jerry Rice, the Legend, falled on failed gfi with reroll. On the same turn that Bubba killed one Raider, another Hellfish planted a boot to prone Jerry. Crowd went silent for a second, when they waited to see if Jerry gets up. Nothing happened, and soon it was clear for all that the great Jerry Rice is dead.
Few days earlier Jerry Rice Fund for FUMBBL was started. It managed to raise amazing total of 1$, before Jerry got killed. Better than nothing still... ;)
Despite those deaths it was a fun game, with some fun incidents. As when I managed to get the ball loose on Hellfishes drive, it went out of bounds, And then it was tossed out of bounds again by fans. And then it was tossed right in to arms of that same Bubba who has killed Raider twice. And he caught it. That point I couldn't help but laugh out loud IRL.
I will surely go for a rematch, as soon as I manage to put my team back to same level. Was a good game, and one story came to an end.
“Hellfish blitzer and Legend wannabe Daniele "Bubba" Comel in a post-game interview:
"I heard everybody talking about Jerry Rice. Jerrythis, Jerrythat. When coach Mattys told us we were about to meet the guy on the pitch, I knew my time had come. I might not be as fast and graceful as him, but I have more games under my belt and I know what to do and how to make it count. This is no sport for sissies, and today the Hellfishes proved to be just as tough as a bloodbowl game needs. My personal fight against Robert Galley is just an example of the reasons why I train 16 hours a day.
I also want to say something about that Rice guy. I'm displeased of his early death, but today he was not in his best conditions anyway, and the pitch is never forgiving. I often laugh at those who say that being a Star is easy because the team schemes tend to protect you... If you are a bloodbowl star you have to be prepared for the worst everytime you step into the arena. Jerry Rice indulged a bit too much on self-confidence today, and I must well say that his death is his own fault. Marco just did what he was supposed to do. And stop calling it a "foul". The referee didn't whistle, so I take it was a normal block."
The Hellfish lineman Marco "A Posto" Gnan offered a no-comment and quickly gained the exit.
Rumors say that this is the beginning of a grudge between the Hellfishes and the Raiders that will last for the seasons to come.
Time will tell!”

Time to start developing new stars for Raiders.”
