The craziest, longest, and most nail-biting match that the Flying Uruk-Hai have played so far... if Orcs bit their nails when nervous. If Orcs got nervous.

Okay, I was nervous.

The Orcs tried a new strategy taking the field against the Dark Elves: Zone defense. A hands-off attempt to control midfield, The defense stayed outsize the cage's tackle zone and dared the elves to come at them. The offense attempted an end-run, was rebuffed, and retreated back to midfield. The defense was holding!

Then the witch-elf made a sprint for the end zone, only to be knocked away by a pair of observant linemen. Then, after being called back into the scrum, they left the witch to lay on the pitch, only for her to run back for the end zone and receive a long pass for the opening score.

Keeblers Shadows 1 - Flying Uruk-hai 0

With plenty of time left on the clock in the first half, The orcs took posession on a touchback and immediately pushed up the near side of the field. The elves bit hard and committed to the side-line defense, only to watch as the line shifted back to midfield, gaining valuable ground and pushing up the middle hard. The ball carrier, Krieg, got ahead of himself however and ran ahead of his blockers, putting himself in a vulnerable spot.

The defense ran back to cover, and were able to get bodies on the runner, but were unable to drop him to the field. Watching the entire defense run to his side of the field, Krieg handed the ball to up-and-coming thrower Fluud, who passed the ball to Sharpfist, completing a huge end-around that threatened to equal the score before the half!

Again, however, for as much as the orcs could adjust their forward motion, the elves could adapt just as quick. A pair of Black Orcs leading the offensive did not deter the defense, and with only a single attempt left for the Uruk-Hai to score, the Elves hung back to guard the end zone.

Fluud, however, found a hole, and pointed Lineman Waugh to a hole in the defensive line as he took a hand-off back from Sharpfist to thread the ball through to Waugh! The whistle blew for halftime with the score dead even.

Keeblers Shadows 1 - Flying Uruk-hai 1

The 2nd half began with the Uruk-hai receiving, and the skilled kickoff placed the ball deep in the Orcs' territory and more than a good distance from their return man. Perhaps it was nerves getting the best of him, but it took 2 turns to get the ball under control and into the hands of Kreig. After some resetting, and a bit of retreat in order to regroup, the Uruk-hai began their grind towards the end zone. The march took up the entire 2nd half, and on their final turn, Kreig dodged his way into the end zone.

Keebler's Shadows 1 - Flying Uruk-hai 2

The Keebler's coach looked at his singular turn left on the clock. "Without injury time, we just can't make it!"

The Orcs lined up three Black Orcs on the line and put the rest in their own end zone, and the kick was up. The referee blew his whistle.

"Injury time! Put another turn on the clock!"

The Keebler's fans went nuts as the Orcs scrambled to cover the multiple runners sprinting up the empty field towards the goal, easily in scoring position. On their final gasp, each receiver had 3 defenders around him, and on the final pass of the game, the ball went out of the receiver's hands and into the waiting arms of an Orc. Game over!
