Stunty Rookie Rumble XII - round 2
-------------------------------------------------
It has been goblin cheater mania so far in the Stunty Rookie Rumble XII and the Skarville Skoundrelz faced the Unlikely Fair goblins in the 2nd round. While the Skoundrelz were loaded to the brim with "speciul weponz" the UF had built a more stable team with a couple of rippers and some pogo's and the rest just regular gobbos. For a while it looked like it would be the winning strategy...

The Skoundrelz got the kickoff and after spending 3 or so turns trying to pick the ball up and getting the chainsaws started they could start their TD run, which they managed in the 8th round after a very unlikely dodge by the kicker Nasty. Other than that the half had been a disappointment entertainment wise, with especially the rippers doing a horrible job of maiming the opponents. Things looked good for the Skoundrelz though. Few casualties meant a barrage of deadly toys to throw in the opponents way when they had to tie up the match in the 2nd half...but then the ref stepped in.

The very onesided ref removed a ripper, a bomber, the fanatic and both pogo sticks for the Skoundrelz...leaving just a single ripper left of the cheaters. The Unlikely Fair on the other hand only lost a pogo stick and thus had both their rippers and a pogo stick for the 2nd half. Besides that both teams were rather even in regular gobbos...things suddenly looked grim for the Skoundrelz.

The 2nd half became a real nailbiter though, and the Skoundrelz managed to gain dominance despite being outnumbered and outgunned...and with the remaining ripper being completly useless and failing to break armor with more than half of his attacks. Instead the Skoundrelz had to box in their opponents during their TD run and push them off the pitch. With both sides having dwindling numbers of players the match ended up in a stalemate battle in the middle of the pitch and time ran out before the opponents had a chance to mount another offensive.

1-0 for the Skoundrelz, who are now through to round 3 with a completly unharmed squad a loads of cash! They will scout how the opposition is doing before they decide how to spend their goodies...

Thanks for the match, jahorin. It was a really exciting match that had us both gasping in frustration a couple of times, but in the end I think luck was fairly even distributed. Very unbloody match for being two cheater teams, hehe...
