“The next stop on our journey through the Freeworld was Rohan, home of the Riders of Rohan… home to the team Riddermark.
They had recently faced the Deadmen of Dunharrow and suffered the consequences of such an encounter, and hence were under strength but nonetheless it promised to be a fairly equal encounter.
We had seen the riders talking to the referee earlier and feared that they may employ some less than Free-worldly tactics upon us. Riddermark chose to receive and quickly gave form to our fears as Korgren incited his comrades to gang foul one of our brothers.
Celaras, outraged at this, blitzed Korgren… the blow managed to unravel the Human’s mortal coil, and there was nothing that their apothecary could do to keep this man on this plane of existence.
This did not perturb Riddermark, who continued to foul their way to the endzone for a relatively easy score, we quickly countered to tie the game up… and so it went leading into the end of the second half at 2 – 2… Injury time gave us just enough time to score a deciding TD, but alas it was not to be, our assisted first block to free up some men failed and saw our impetus lost… Riddermark sought to capitalise and flooded our backfield.
In a last ditch attempt to get the ball to safety we picked it up and threw it to a nearby Elf, who fumbled the catch.
Theoden, who had played exceptionally well throughout and thrown some long passes remained consistent and threw a game winning pass to a catcher!
The game ended 2 – 3!
-----------
Bit late writing this one… my first turn looked good with a death, but Duke more than equalled the numbers by sending several of mine to the KO box. It had tie written all over the game, but alas injury time became my undoing… I should have held onto the ball in hindsight.
GG Duke – he kept on tying my guys up despite the first block his new guy received killing him :D ”
