#5 Iosu Esnaolaatxega – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#5 Iosu Esnaolaatxega – Smashed Knee (NI)
A very sickened Real Sociedead returned home defeated after a titanic Semi-Final clash in the OBBA Cup.

Hexoatl had called on the help of Silibili, but Real, expecting to meet Pisa All Star in the final decided to save their cash for the Count in the next round should they make it.

The game should have been sewn up… the first half went according to plan, the Real Army slowly marched up the field, tying Saurus up where they could and coupled with blodge making for an easy if uneventful first Touchdown to make it 1-0 at half time. Coach Flibble was beginning to get dismayed at one point by his Saurus’ failed GFIs and a Kroxigor that did nothing… but didn’t seemed to mind Real’s set of early Double Skulls at the beginning on the half. :)

The lizzies took to the field for the second half, and it wasn’t so much if they’d score but when… whilst they dithered about manoeuvring the ball a Saurus managed to hurt himself on an unaware Zombie and Silibili found out what an angry Mummy was capable of… both were sent to the BH box.

The lizzies however found the task a little harder than anticipated and had to fall back once again on the talents of Rio (someone kill him quick!!!) despite him being hit several times but not going down earlier – the score was levelled 1 – 1.

4 turns to score seemed a simple job to do… Blodge master Díaz de Cerio scooped up the ball and went to the centre of the field, closely watched by Ghoul team mates and the two tackling Wights. Nonetheless, Rio and another skink broke through and tried to bring the blodger down, but to no avail and worse yet tumbled himself! Real was practically home free. Diaz broke to the right with only a couple of skinks able to get near him with an ineffectual presence. Rio came to the rear of him, dodging through everyone like nobody’s business – Real took a turn to Surf the annoying skink into the BH box – two turns left and the score seemed certain!

Left with little other choice… the Kroxigor roared! He knocked his marking zombie down, dashed over the field with 2 GFI’s and placed himself smack into the TZs of a zombie, Díaz de Cerio and another ghoul… with his prehensile tail Real decided to try and move the big fella… another zombie blitzed for a 1d block – SKULL, he tried again – SKULL!!! NOOOOOOO! Real easily recovered but Díaz de Cerio could not beat the clock to make it to the end zone!

Extra Time – and the skinks were receiving… game over? It seemed that Hexoatl had been saving everything till now… The zombies were quickly removed from the Saurus, swatted away like gobos, the skinks didn’t fail a pickup despite requiring 3 in total… and they slowly, painlessly got their numbers together to form the cage and carry a skink to a 2 GFI endzone!

The Season for Real is over…

-------------
GG Flibble – he might whine about his luck but don’t believe him – he didn’t fail any vital rolls, whereas I did… twice at least :p

I made a couple of mistakes which could have been avoided if I’d have paid more attention. :( But not to take anything from Flibble, he handled his team well.

The moving of the BG near my 3 players was a very good move and left me either with the option of a 4+ RR dodge, or a 1d RR block… I took the better option but failed anyway, and that was coupled with him getting to receive in sudden death were the turning points.

I’m glad I only BH his players so at least he has a fit team for the final… GL mate, I’ll get my revenge next season. :)
