“A tough game in the blizzard. The Engines were in recovery mode with 2 of their better engines out for maintenance (MNG). The Lorians got Duh Where Am I? as the handicap but it only worked once in about 12 or more attempts.

The Elitists started in offence and an early casualy and apothecary fail left them outnumbered early. The Engines applied the pressure and the Elitists were in trouble a few times, but a fateful bounce saw the ball land in elven hands and this was followed by Double Skulls rerolled to Double Skulls and the Elitists got away with an easy score after some very intense turns!

With only 2 turns to score, Injury Time was rolled gifting the Engines with an extra turn to deliver the package to the station. On offence, the Engines pushed one way then the other. With a big mob of players, the Elitists thought they had prevented a TD by chainpushing Percy (who had the ball) two squares back and thus 2 squares too far from the end zone.

However, the same mob of players that allowed the Elitists to chainpush Percy two squares back allowed the Engines to chainpush him 4 squares forward and he rolled into the station for an easy TD to level the scores.

At 1-1 to start the second half, the Engines took their time pushing forwards, but a the elves made some dodges and got a one dice blitz on the ball that was rerolled into a Pow. Luckily for the Engines, the ball scattered onto Murdoch the Ogre who caught the ball despite being in 2 tacklezones!

Despite boneheading once in the last 4 turns, Murdoch was able to move forwards and hand off to Donald who scored the game winning TD.

A very fun game against a good and sporting coach. My opponent played very well and my defence was mostly reactive rather than planned. Just unlucky that his stupid apoth failed on the niggle or it would have been a good day out for both of us.
