“A hard-fought battle in the 1st round of the XFL. I haven't played these High Elves is a while but the dice made me look good today.

Opponent scored quickly in the 1st half and I responded by settling into a ball-control offense with the intention of running out the half and taking as many foulshots on his mb/tacklers as I was able. I was able to get one blitzer into the BH box and i killed the other (saved by the apo though). Half ended tied 1-1.

2nd half I received and planned a repeat performance with a long, grinding drive. Blitzed the other mb/tackle blitzer with my own and knocked him off the pitch on the 1st turn. That left two ag5 elves as the main threats to my drive (and in hindsight, i should have handled the ball with a blodge catcher instead of my unskilled thrower). Tried to extend my man advantage with some fouling but did nothing except get myself ejected. He got one shot on my thrower with some ag5 dodging but couldn't come up with the knockdown. I scored turn 8 and he had too few men to try for the OTS chainpush equalizer. 2-1 final.

Notes: During this match I earned my (Legendary Fouler 2007-07-11 Did 1000 fouls) award! Wanted to save it for Rondo but played the tourney match 1st. Oh well.
