“This was a weird match. Funner was admittedly rusty and didn't really remember how to minimize risks, but after turn 2 he could stop worrying. I have never seen anyone have such amazing success with 1 dice blocks and dodges in a match. The luck meter is at 61 %, but keep in mind that every block I made throughout the match was with 2 dices while more than half of Funner's was with 1 dice...and he ended up succeeding with as many.
After outblocking the humans in the first half I had what looked like a very stable path to score a TD with my AG 3 bull centaur. Nuffle had other plans though. A crazy -2 dice blitz managed to take the bull centaur down. I wrote it off as a freak incident, but bizarre rolls would come to haunt me for the rest of the mach. For example the bull centaur spent 4 turns failing to pick the ball up after that, leaving the first half scoreless.
The Moulders had 1 BH and 3 KO's, but of course all 3 came back to play in the 2nd. I did what I could to get rid off them, I crowd surfed, I gang fouled and I blocked and blocked and blocked. Every turn half or more of the humans were left prone, but they always had a succesful dodge to get in the way of the ball carrier or a 1 dice block to take down their chaos dwarf defender. The Moulders threw 1 dice blocks with their ogre, dodged with it (no break tackle) and generally just made me tear my hair out by the roots. The catchers made crazy dodge attempts past my dwarves (4+, 4+, 3+ dodge past one for example).
A crowd surf on the ball carrier made the ball end up in the hands of the inexperienced hobgoblin Lodush and with the memory of the first halfs failures with the ball I decided to safeguard him to the end zone and try the hand off there instead of on my own part of the pitch. In the end I ended up struggling a lot just to get him to score. But at least I did score...a loss or a tie would have been hard on the Skirmishers.
Thanks for the match, Funner. It was a bizarre experience, hehe. Good luck with your team. ”
