#4 Alan "Ansum" – Dead (RIP)
#6 Quincy "Quicken" – Dead (RIP)
I knew this was going to be a tough match. Gritter is one of the favourites to go up to the Premier this season and with my DP out plenty of Mighty Blow on his side, I was worried about having a team left.

Things started well with me receiving, though we were playing in a blizzard and my Ogre KOing his Troll and I started to advance up 1 side of the pitch in a nice safe cage.

Then disaster struck, Alan "Ansum" the team's star Blitzer and Season 4's biggest hitter was killed by the Bull centaur Evil Betty. Living up to her name the evil creature trampled him into the earth so that even the finest efforts of out apothecary couldn't save him. The wailings of his huge array of groupies could be heard from miles around.

Under pressure from the Chaso Dwarfs I decided to score with my 47 SPP thrower rather than other players more deserving of the points, on turn 4 rather than risk losing the ball.

Kicking off the Chaos Dwarfs started smashing into my team, but the icey conditions obviously affected the sure hands blodge hobgoblin and he couldn't pick up the ball. My players rushed forward, Will "Wackum" killing Ventriloquist on the way in a small act of revenge for Alan's death.

The ball obviosuly must have been covered in ice as not only did the hobgoblin fail to pick it up, but I also failed with a re-roll, and enough of the Kung Pow team managed to scramble back to make my scoring a 2nd Td virtually impossible. As a final act of evil, on the last turn they surrounded poor downed catcher Quincy "Quicken" and booted him to death.

Having lost 2 key players I was concerned with what else would happen 2nd half, but still went all out for the win. I managed to slow the chaos dwarfs down and stop them safely caging, even getting a 2D block on the ball carrier after Grit trolled double skulls twice in his turn. In his penultimate turn he ran his blodge ball carrier up alone, I needed to dodges to get a 2D and made them both, powing the hobbo and tried to garb the ball, but again failed the 3+ pick up with a re-roll.

A quick blitz and a Bull Centaur pick up gave Grit the draw.

Whilst I'm pleased to draw against Grit's very good team, with a measly 20K winnings my team is in some trouble, especially as they are facing some nasty undead next game. If given the choice I think I'd have swapped Alan's life for another 3-0 loss.
