#3 Spawn III – Broken Ribs (MNG) #3 Spawn III – Smashed Hip (-MA) #7 Maxi – Broken Ribs (MNG) #7 Maxi – Smashed Knee (NI) #15 Link III – Dead (RIP)
“This match turned out to be the final outing for the Soul Caliburs - my oldest team, and in many ways one of my favorites. We've never refused a match, always played everyone, and had some great times along the way with a cool bunch of coaches in
.
We started this round with a full team, albeit carrying a couple of niggles, and in the first 7 skill rolls, took 5 aged niggles, 2 of which were first skills. None before 51 spp. 2 apo fails on good players (one st4 ag5 blodge)followed, and we were in dire straits. We were happy to keep up the E.L.F. challenge and play rcd's Orcs, and luck in this game was symptomatic of that of the whole last two rounds. I counted 7 attempts I had at the ball in the 14 turns of Orc possession, some tough like -2dbs for pushes to yield 1dbs (the only one to almost work), and some easy like 3+ with RR hits on the ball, or 75% attempts for 2 dice. Wasn't to be, and we succumbed to the Orc might.
Down to 9 players with a niggle, my patience with how things go with this lot has run out. The team retired, we leave 3 players in the [F]action all time High Elf listings, and I hope in these times of a bashier [F]action, we've made a few friends in the matches we've had.
After a brief break, I'll be back for another go at [F], and I thank all of the fellows in F1 for making the system a fun place to be. The bad reputation for Elfballing that this place once had, I hope, is behind it, as it's undeserved nowadays. Anyone reading this thinking about having a go, do so!
