#10 Not as good as Gateshead! – Smashed Knee (NI) #10 Not as good as Gateshead! – Broken Ribs (MNG)
“Thanks for the game and taking time off work to play! :D
Bit of a wierd game for me, I started out with 4 pows! The class of the Mighty Goo started to close in on my feeble attempt at an offence! Though luck prevailed and I got a scrappy score!
Thought things were going sweetly when I rolled a blitz and got the ball, but a bit of Vampire ineptitude made things a little difficult, after Goo had got the ball back of me, I think I likely overshot myself and Purplegoo had little trouble in getting a score
2nd half was probably more even dice (Purplegoo possibly had the more even rolls though he did get quite a few skulls that needed rerolls) while my vamps got pretty thirsty! (Must remember to feed them Bloody Marys at half time!). A bad kick put the ball out of bounds and I was down to 7, I think (I guess it was the poor thralls feeling faint due to those sodding vampires having lapses in concentration to rival Titus Bramble! Then again, this is Sunderland we are talking about!) Purple yet again pushed aside my feeble attempt at a defence and sped down a flank, the game up to this point was relatively peaceful, with only a couple of cas, then the game went all "Martin Johntson" and I managed to put in a cas with a Vamp and a BH on a foul, then I think next turn, Gateshead got niggled, Purple ran it in for the score on T8, I did enough to get a spp to skill up a vamp, and the final whistle blew!
I was pretty happy to keep it at 2-1, against a superior coach and a superior team, he was able to keep my Vamps in check, who had given me a good chance against the zons in the previous match, I was pretty powerless to stop him!
Thanks for a great game mate, ill look you out in future!”
Vampires against CD's at this level is perhaps about as difficult as it gets for the bloodsuckers - and he manfully defended the onslaught. With 70% luck, stalling for two scores isn't too difficult, especially when those Vamps get thirsty and the Thralls break easily.
Great game all around for me. Great dice, nice spps, fantastic cash, and a class opponent who was plenty of fun. Rematch anytime Rob, thanks for the fun!”
