#11 Terror – Dead (RIP)
NBL Exp I Finals:

Due to the TR cap, both teams were low on players. 11 Amazons faced off against 4 Vampires and 8 Thralls. In the first half, the amazons were doing great - blasting back the vampires and thralls - scoring easily for a 1-0 lead in addition to BH a thrall and niggle on star vamp (but regen worked). There was a chance for a second score at T8, but it was a long shot and a failed dodge finished off the chances of icing the game. And with so few players - that proved to be our undoing.

In the second half in rapid sucession we lost players. We had used our apoth in the first half on a RIP, so on turn 1, there was nothing we could do but watch as 2 amazons were badly hurt. On turn 2, two stuns and a KO further reduced our numbers. We attempted to foul back but only resulted in a stun and the ref caught our player as well...from there it was just a matter of time as more KOs and another RIP on one of stars diminished us further. However, we fought back! A RIP on the star vampire again gave us hope...but yet again the undead abomination regenerated. The game went into overtime, and our KOs refused to come back to give us a fighting chance. In OT, we went the first 6 turns without rolling a POW or POW/knockdown. The only vampires or thralls to hit the ground were on 2 bothdowns we were forced to take. The result was our numbers dropped to 5 girls at the end and we failed to scored then in the two turns to force a coin flip.

A disappointed game since we lost. However, a great game against a great coach and team that was a pleasure to play! Thanks and crongrats on your win!

#12 Underling – Broken Ribs (MNG)
This match was the end of an Era - the TR cap for Experience tournaments has been abolished, but this tournament finished up with it intact anyways, and led to an extremely exciting Finals match after Royal Bloodlines stayed at nearly the same TR and TS for way more games than it was healthy for the team's long-term growth to do so. Many thralls were fired and even more were eaten in the quest for the team's 2nd victory in 2 tournaments, and their sacrifices were not in vain!

This game was all about the thralls which was very good - the vampires had been receiving way too many SPP and this game they took a break, not throwing a single Gaze all game, and only causing 1 CAS.

I think the most crucial aspect of this victory was my team not trying to score in the second half when we had a good shot, playing defensively and planning on going into OT while watching the Amazons waste all their rerolls instead. Although we were only left with 1 for OT, which was used in T47 , it proved useful enough as it ended the zons very decent chance to tie on their last turn.

After securing the ball early on in OT the thralls, copying classic basher strategy, simply caged, stalled, and bashed the amazons as much as possible. Azure put up an excellent defence and forced me to score giving him 2 turns for an entirely feasable touchdown, but a 3d blitz with tackle/strip ball thrall meant took the lone, brave Amazon catcher down and gave Royal Bloodlines victory for the game and the tournament.

The game it was brutal, bloody, nasty (though not vindictive), and we both gave our all to destroy the opposing team and win! Thank you Azure for possibly the most exciting games in my NBL career, and even my entire BB career as a whole.
