“With a shot at gaining promotion still on the cards the Woodies were looking forward to playing the Citadel Ancients. The Ancients are one of the longest running teams in the SWL and this was the first time the Double Double have had the privilige.

The WDDs got of to huge start and were certainly not intimidated by their opposition. Benny G was knocking them down like ten pins and then Hutchy would finish them off. Much focus was given to removing Ripper Puppy and the boys managed to get rid of the Star wolf very early on in th piece. With the Ancients not expecting this onslaught the Woodies had a free rain in the first half. Hutchy and Mr Murray managed to run in regulation TDs giving the Woodies a comfotable 2-0 lead at half time.

The Second was a different affair all together. The Ancients showed their class and experience and regrouped wonderfully to avoid a whitewash. Eth'el went to town on his former brethren and the Men of Wood had no chance to stop Dark Bleakheart from crossing the line.

The Woodies had already done enough in the first half though and they managed to hold onto their lead to give them a shot at the conference tittle in their next match.

2pts: Dark Blackheart - A much better showing in the second half earns him a couple of votes

1pt: Flesh and Bones - Proved quite annoying. Did not have a huge impact on the game but did manage to get in the way a fair bit.
