“Handicaps were Doom and Gloom and Extra Training.

This game was a bit one sided due to the dice. With only 3 rerolls, my team rolled 3 early double skulls in the first 4 turns and used them all up.

On offence, the Amazons faced a Perfect Defence which slowed them down, and then the Popes had an amazing blocking turn to put pressure on the Amazons. I wasn't concentrating and started with a 2 dice block without a blocker and came up double skull/pows (1 in 9 failure) and that was the end of my turn.

The Popes recovered the ball and scored to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

Second half saw the Amazons start in offence, but face a Blitz! Whilst the Amazons caught the ball, they were under huge pressure and the Popes managed to knock the ball free, then make a few 2+s and 3+s to dodge to the ball and pick it up and toss it over my catcher (11/36 intercept) to get yet another score.

The Amazons got a consolation score near the end of the game.

Nothing I could do today really with such dice. My artificially inflated TR (I have players on 114, 75, 74, 67 etc) resulted in giving away 2 handicaps which gave Doom and Gloom which along with all the double skulls and Perfect Defence determined the first half. Second half 1-1 result whilst not lopsided on paper, might have been a 1-0 half for the Amazons if not for the Blitz.

To top off the insult from Nuffle, the Amazons rolled a 1 for income when they needed 2+ to get a replacement Ogre!!!”
