“The Champions have actually won a match! Granted, it was against a rather decimated Wood Elf team - but a strong one. Even though they were down to 8 men constantly (due to 1 mng, 1 niggling injury and 1 suicide block the apoth failed to heal), their catchers with Guard (one of them a 1-turner) and their wardancers with Strip Ball were a real pain. Especially since my players were very weak at blocking. I rolled very few pow's, and not even Thalion (with tackle) could wreak any havoc against this team (7 of 8 players had dodge, and most had block, too). Ranarion even received a niggling injury when rolling a double pow/skull, but my apoth could prevent it.

In other things, I was pretty lucky, rolling a blitz on the first kickoff and a perfect defense later. We were 1-1 at half time, I scored, and then luckily his TD attempt failed, and I could score again. He made it 3-2 using his one-turner; then, with two turns left, I just tried to keep the ball safe by getting it to a thrower and caging him in. He still got a blitz on him (2d my choice) and rolled a double pow/pushback, but my players covered the ball when it fell to the ground, and his catcher couldn't reach it.

A nice game for me which earned me a point of FF, four skills (all my touchdowns were scored by lineelves today) and enough money for a third RR (which I really need :X). Hope my guys can keep it up, and maybe add a bit of hurting. I'll be playing against Skaven next week - technically Thalion should be a great GR hunter...”
