“Handicap was Iron Man, which was given to a Mighty Blow Catcher on 12 spp.

The Norse team were rusty on offence, losing a blitz on their first turn (because the wrong Mighty Blow player was left to blitz and I didn't want the Frenzy follow up) and caged the ball conservatively, only to drop a 3+ with Catch skill (for 6 SPP).

The Virtuosos stunned the Worse DP, sending him onto the loose ball but an unfriendly scatter left the ball in a mass of Worse players and the Elves kept their distance.

The Worse burst through with the ball onto the right wing with the Virtuosos in hot pursuit then swung it back left again.

It was a very tough half as the Ogre kept failing his Bone Heads and the Worse dodging was attorcious whilst the Virtuosos also lost their rerolls early.

The Norse fouled to stun the Str5 Blitzer, but the ball was not safe though. The Virtuosos made some dodges to chain push the Worse ball carrier out to face a 2 dice blitz but the Virtuosos failed their GFI and the Norse kept the ball!

The Worse swung the ball out wide, but rolled a pair of Skulls to leave a Virtuoso player free to Blitz the Worse carrier without needing to dodge (if I had not done the block, the 1s would have been my opponents lol, so serve me right). The Virtuosos made their dodges and GFIs and knocked the ball free near the endzone.

The Worse set up their two dice blocks and needed a push on 2 dice to free up a player for a 2 dice blitz on the Virtuoso player next to the ball but the dice came up Skull/Pows, so it was a one dice blitz for the ball.

The Virtuoso defender did not have Block and went down on a Skull./Pow (niggled - apothed) and the Worse made the 3+ pick up to score (PHEW!).

The Virtuosos had 2 turns to score a reply and got a RR on the kickoff. They forced their way through the middle and set up a cage around a Catcher. The Worse surrounded the cage, knocking a player down and fouling him (BH).

The Virtuosos were in a tough position with all players downfield marked by 1-2 defenders and rolled a snaked a dodge attempt to blitz a player free and they entered the half time break trailing 0-1.

The Virtuosos started the second half with another set of snakes picking up the ball and the Norse were on the counterattack putting one TZ on the ball, but snaking a GFI to put on a second.

The Viturosos used a RR to buy a pow on the LOS then were unlucky to fail a dodge going towards the ball with the player being KO.

The Norse recovered the ball and ran deep, but the Virtuosos were able to make their dodges and GFIs this time to get a 2 dice blitz on the ball carrier, knocking him over and sending the ball out of bounds.

The fans hurled the ball towards the middle of the endzone near a Worse player! The Virtuosos could get a player to the ball with a dodge and 2 GFIs but failed the first roll and the Norse just needed a push and a 3+ pickup for the lucky 2-0 lead.

With 5 turns left in the half, the Worse fans killed the ref on the next kickoff! The Virtuosos got one player through to the Worse backfield but a second failed his dodge. The Worse stunned the player that was deep and fouled (KO) the other player to give them 2 player advantage.

The Virtusosos pushed the ball deep on the sideline and the Norse collapsed onto them, injuiring (BH) another with a foul.

The Virtuosos needed a 3+ dodge for a 2 dice blitz to set up a 2+ dodge to score but failed the dodge with yet another 1.

The Worse chainpushed the ball carrier onto the prone Virtuoso Str5 blitzer who was BH by the crowd then KOd another with a foul to give themselves a 10 to 6 player advantage.

The Virtuosos set up a one dice blitz, but didn't get the one dice pow and the Worse had a 3+ pass and catch to win the match 3-0 but snaked the throw.

A fun match against a fun and good coach. rami kept me under much pressure in the first half and I was never quite certain of scoring.

His armour held out as my Mighty Blows only inflicted 2 casualties all match but on the other hand, rami was very unlucky to roll so many 1s early in both halves to chew up his rerolls.

Whist the first half was very close and tense due to rami's tight defence, the second half was also tense and closely contested as the Worse stole the ball, only to lose it again, to have it thrown to a place where both teams could get it (if rami made his 3x 2+s, he could have done a 4+ pass or tried to run in 2 other linemen to make it harder for me to steal it back).

However, there were too many 1s being rolled by rami on key plays (I rolled almost as many 1s, but most was on Boneheading my Ogre so not turnover or thwarted steal attempts) which allowed the Norse to get the lucky 2-0 go ahead score.

Then Get the Ref came up and the Worse were finally able to exert some strength of numbers on the pitch to make the Virtuoso score a difficult proposition.
