“The High Hopes were being retired and decided to do so in style by playing their last match against the FUMBBL CUP Finalist Hashut Hellbringers!

The Hellbringers now pretty much a novelty team after spending all their money replacing dead Chaos Dwarves and niggled players accepted with the hope of earning some extra money from the likely one sided event.

However, High Hopes started on song, using a quick snap to quickly exploit the front heavy 3-4-4 Hellbringer defence to set up a quick TD!

The Hellbringers then found themselves under pressure on the next kickoff as they struggled to bring the ball upfield. Despite the inexperience of High Hopes, they made it incredibly hard for the Hellbringers to advance the ball at all.

Eventually, the Hellbringers managed to get the ball safely to the other side of the pitch before killing High Hopes Catcher Caranrod with a foul! Unfortunately for Caranrod, the team Apothecary had just had his hair permed and was not in the mood for running out on the pitch and thus got there too late to save the poor sod (Apothecary roll failed).

The Hellbringers started with the ball in the second half and advanced the ball strongly against a depleted High Hopes team before scoring a quick TD to take the score to 2-1.

On the High Hopes possession, the High Elves again did a quick snap and jumped away to again exploit the front heavy Hellbringer 3-4-4 defence and advanced the ball deep towards the endzone.

Hellbringers Bull Centaur Tzorak was able to strip the ball from the High Hopes ball carrier and the ball was knocked out of bounds then thrown back in just over the sideline. Hellbringers star Hobgoblin Laglop went to pick up the ball but only succeeded in knocking the ball out of bounds again to give High Hopes a chance of evening the score!

However, the High Hopes would be thrower tripped on the way to the ball and the Hellbringers were able to recover the ball and get it to safety to avoid a very humiliating draw against a much lower rated and weaker team.

A very fun game. My opponent didn't care what happened to his team so it was fun to kill his player with a foul without feeling bad about it hehe.

I took a big risk playing such a low Str team cos my Hellbringers don't have many good scoring skills (such as +AG) and I play all or nothing defence (front heavy defensive set that is very strong except on quick snap and he got that twice!!!) which almost let him steal a draw against me.

We were both laughing about that during the game. If he managed to pull off a draw (which looked very likely for most of the game) I would lose over a point in coach rating LOL.

Anyways, it was a fun silly game and the farce didn't do me too much advantage to my coach rating given I probably earned like .05 (if anything) from the game hehe.

Best of all though, I got 10K. Really need some money to replace two Niggled CDs, and a Troll...
