“obba date 2:2, coaches log: dorfs, funny little fellows, dangerous and hard as nails. promises to be a rough day...
First Half
Dorfs receive, and move down the pitch, Bhing on BoB from a block and Ko-ing another with a foul. 9 v 11, and dorfs with a ball behind their GD-strewn line. What to do? Plan 1 - bash a hole: Orcs push through, arrow-like, and open a gap. Through goes The Duke and puts pressure on the dorf runner. Two more orcs flank down the left and apply more pressure. Runner has 3 contacts and looks around in panic. Dorfs mount a rescue mission but it fails to free all the TZs, leaving the dorf runner no option but the dodge.... or not. Ball falls next to the Duke. Nigel Martyn, employing his Sure Hands, scoops the ball up and scurries downfield.
The dorfs, looking around at the chaos that is all that remains of their game plan,. lumber around and begin to chase back, but slowed down by the chasing orcs and some carefull running by Nigel, they can;t catch him.
Back in midfield, they orcs knock down promising dorf blitzer (w / MB) Darren Mackie, and - incensed by two unanswererd dorfish fouls - send in Jamie shore to do the job. Teh BOOT! Kill. Failed apoc.
Orcs delay and score in T6, leaving the dorfs not enough time to score before the half.
Second Half
Orcs receive and the Duke takes the ball. They advance slowly, looking to preserve their 1-0 lead and risk nothing. They try one or two feints down the right flank, but the dorfs repel them. Instead of risking the ball, the Reavers maintain the cage and retreat slowly - safety, safety. As time runs down the game grinds to a halt on the halfway line, and eventually the orcs run the clock down.”
