The Reavers, despite their superiority in numbers and TS, went into this game with a good deal of trepidation, after last season's 0-4 trouncing at the hands of the slippery ones....
The game began, with the orcs kicking, in the pouring rain. No problem for the star lizzie running back Rio, however, as his AG5 allowed him to get the ball, and retreat into the backfield.....
The orcs began the assault, and The Duke dodged free of his saurus marker and charged after Rio, GFI-ed twice, and rolls a POW on the 1-dice hit. AV break, CAS, SI (MNG).... No apoc used.... The ball bounces to the supporting Lizards, who grabs the slippery thing despite being in a TZ....
The lizards look to recover, dodging away from The Duke and moving down the right flank. All looks good until the handoff in the rain...2, rr, 2...
Ball fall lose and the orcs close in. CArlos Tevez is smashed to the ground (SI) by Ian Holloway - our sole tackler - and the ball surrounded by Black orcs.
Turn 4, another skink BHed - this time Michael Carrick (a bad day for the red devil's alumni)... and so the carnage continues.
The orcs get the ball, and despite some sauri magic making them lose it a couple of times, move downfield and score in T8, buy which time the lizards are down to 6.
The second half is one way traffic, with 11 orcs scoring in T12 vs the depleted lizards.
The last 4 turns were interesting, with the lizzies scoring in T14 due to sloppy and over confident orkish defence (we were trying to score a 3rd), forcing a very defensive T15 setup just in case by the orcs...
Final score 2-1 to the Reavers!
In aftermatch news, I'm sure my fellow Premiership coaches will be as thrilled as I am by the following:
The Duke skilled up, no aging, +AG
Ian Holloway skilled up, no aging, double, Stand Firm.
fortunately for the lizards, they have the understrength Vampires next, so will have a game to recover and get their players back.
