#1 Asier Riesgo – Smashed Knee (NI)
This game could be a very pivotal turning point in the Premiership Champions quest to defend their title.

With two of their toughest games of the season behind them, Hexoatl and Mummywell, Real Sociedead were looking forward to their next three games as somewhat of a respite, but with dorf team Karaz-a-Karak United, perhaps the toughest of the three, they were taking no chances and again hired the talents of the Count.

The Dwarves started the drive, hitting the zombies on the LOS and scooping the ball up into a loose cage. Real began to attack the dorfs left flank with the Count and Morten Skoubo whilst the Mummies and Zombies got stuck in and the other Ghouls hung back out of Dorf reach.

The Dorfs hit the zombies again, and first blood was theirs as they committed rookie Zombie, Ion Txoperna Garcia, to the BH box. The Dorfs then made a committed move to the right flank taking with them a cage of blitzes and long beards.

Real moved to cover the Dorfs run whilst the mummies and zombies concentrated on trying to thin their ranks. Mummy, Asier Riesgo, badly hurt an important guarding Long Beard whilst Juanito laid the boot in on a Troll Slayer and SI him… 2 games, 2 fouling casualties for Real’s star DP.

The Dwarves moved a little deeper and formed a tight cage whilst the others were left to fight off the Zombie/Mummy combos, undermanned due to the 4 man cage formed by the sideline.

The Count came in with a cunning Hypno gaze, but failed to work his trance like magic on the blitzer, but soon enough the Dorf cage became swamped with Wights, Ghouls and a Mummy. The Ball carrier opted to block rather than get away from the surrounded cage and from there on in the subsequent couple of turns the vice was tightened and the cage annihilated… the Dorf DP was even introduced to the crowd, sadly… terribly, they left him unharmed.

The Real TD came at the very end to make it 1 – 0.

Equal numbers faced each other for the second half, but Real’s Wight team captain, Gerardo García, didn’t make it out of the KO box. A deep kick by the Dorfs cemented plans to take their time to score, a strategy devised to limit damage to Ghouls that had already managed to see them through to the second half uninjured. Real controlled the drive excellently, with the Dorfs never getting an opportunity to block the ball carrier. The ball was passed to Wight, Francisco, who made a completion and was handed the ball back to score.

Whilst this tactical stalling was in place the Dorfs had gone into foul mode, throwing them anywhere and everywhere despite the referee watching them, and taking action several times.

Then it happened… in Real’s paranoid attempts to keep the ghouls safe they left an opportunity for an equal strength block on, Mummy, Asier. The dorfs put him to the ground only for a follow up gang foul led by their DP – Niggling Asier!

The game ended 2 – 0 but with Real’s cash blown on the loan of the Count, a niggled mummy, and a clawing chaos team next, the price of this victory may have cost them their title. With the Reavers showing no sign of slowing the decision now is risk Aiser till the end of the season or replace him with a rookie?

The outlook seems bleak.

===
A poor dice game for Dan (Skulls on 1d blocks and AG3 failed dodges) looks as if I wasted my money on an unneeded Count… and maybe I did.

We controlled the game very well, a little too well, as I predominantly didn’t leave my Blodging Ghouls to be easily blitzed by a tackler (save the 0spp ghoul) or use them to tie up any players unless only a -2d could have been had, and this ultimately allowed Dan to get the 1d block and foul on Asier… a far more costly error than a dead Ghoul.

Suddenly my next game, which I hoped would be any easier one despite the 2 Claws and RSC Chaos team now looks like a very tough game indeed.

You may have lost Dan, but you may have taken me down with you… I will have my pound of flesh when next we meet. Mwahahaha!
