“It was a rough game for both teams. Overall, our blocking was just not up to par today...after an initial burst of good hard blocks - the vast majority of the second half never saw an elf hit the ground. However, 3 early blocks and a crowd push resulted in 4 CAS against the elves and left them with 7 players for the rest of the game. However, morleys, 2 early CAS against us and a KO that never woke up the whole game meant we played the vast majority of the game with only 9 players. So, as in many games, it came down to just a few plays...

On the opening kickoff the chaos dwarves fumbled the initial ball pickup...but then managed to make the pickup...and Anika was never even blitzed as she swiftly took the ball up the sidelines and in for the score...along the way she pushed a witch elf into the crowd for a SI-missing as well. The drive took most of the first half.

In the second half, the dark elves had the ball to start, but a failed 3+ dodge (no RR due to tackle and team RR used already) failed before they secured the ball. Anika was at the right place and right time again and she moved a third the length of the field to position herself next to the ball...then the dark elves unable to blitz Anika away from the ball ended up making too many rolls (pickup in tackle zone, gfi, dodges) and the ball fell free...Anika used break tackle to get free, scooped up the ball and it was 2-0. This was the essentially the game, the dark elves recovered to score soon after to make it 2-1...and they had a chance at a draw, but Anika once again secured the ball, and the dark elves knew they had no chance...knowing that she would already skill with the 2 TDs, Anika scored the third...

Unfortunately, the greatest star of the chaos dwarves...Anika, revealed to the team afterwards that she is suffering from a lingering injury. This puts the team in a difficult spot as we do not want to be without the services of one of our star players...but can we afford to keep her around if she may not show up for a game?”
