“SWL Season XXI - Southside Stone Smashers Conference League - Round 4
The regulars received, and thanks to a bad kick, Hthark started with the ball. A gradual caging drive moved up the pitch, until finally we got a 2d against hit on him with the strip baller. Unfortunately, with some bad bounces, and Jenni close by, it didn't help a whole lot, and the dwarves scored in turn 7.
Half time score: 0-1
Despite two attempts, neither of the KOs I'd suffered came back for the second half, and with two more players off the field injured (BH), I was in trouble. Outnumbered, we took some big risks on offence, and some brilliant work by Roxy Lobba, we managed a 4 turn touchdown at the cost of 2 more KOs.
With a wizard still in hand, we hoped to be in with a chance, but only one of our KOs returned to the pitch, so we were still 2 players short. With 2 DPs on his side of the pitch, DC had no trouble sending a few more off the pitch, and when my wizard failed to do anything particularly useful, it came down to 1d blocks on Jenni (all of which were doomed to failure), and Jenni waltzed in for an easy touchdown in turn 16.
3 pts - #9 Jenni
I think that 2 TDs in trying circumstances speaks for itself. She was the only player the regulars really tried any ball handling with, except for the touchback that when to Hthark, and the results certainly show why.
2 pts - #1 Marc
To be honest, it was the KOs that really mattered, but Mark led the cas tally, and was right on the money for overall blocks.
1 pt - Hthark the Unstoppable
ST6 bull ... pain in the arse. The touchback (bad kick) went straight to him, and that left me with only one player that could really have a shot at him (Leg Breaka). She succeeded, but Hthark came back with a block that sent her right off the pitch.”
