This was one of the most enjoyably frustrating games i've played in a long while.
Everything seemed to go right from the off, with a very early SI to a lineman and i carried the ball to the touchline near the end of the first half, however good defensive play from my oppo and the begins of a run of crucial failings denied me a 1st have TD and the lead.
At the kick off for the second half, the VG heroes are gifted a blitz which sets them up for the only TD of the match and it was all we could do to stall them for a few turns after some duff blocking against the ball carrier. Everything else is going well for us though and we manage to keep his players down to a minimum at the next kick-off giving us hope of an equaliser. More good blocking ensued but again we was let down by failing seemingly easy manuvers and we fell sort of 1-1 with a failed pass right at the end.
All the effort was there, and the plays were well thought out but liked nuffle's favour.
big salute to hotspurstu who defended magnificently considering the lack of players he had for most of the match, and he never bowed to the pressure.

very well played mate, a deserved win!

#7 Fujin – Smashed Knee (NI)
Balrog 0 - 1 Gulie

This game looked like it was going to go so wrong for me after I lost a lino block one, turn one. All the way through I was on the edge of a nasty looking pit of despair. Somehow though, my team managed to deny the score in the first half and lost no more players.

Second half I had the ball but only eight players on the field to try and get ahead. Again I was not confident but managed to get the score I needed and then it was a case of yet more resolute and somewhat lucky defending. Guiles' Video Game Heroes pulled it off though and I ran out the winner..... somehow. While both our luck factor was way up there I think I got most of mine on the key rolls. Unfortunately on the very last turn of the game Balrogs' team injured my Ogre setting me up for more tough going next game.

This was like the sort of fight where one player stays at the back of the screen and dodges to win by the clock running out. A few more seconds in round one or two and I was toast. Unlucky kkyishkkii.
