AFL:

The game started with a clear day and both sides eager for some good blood bowl action. Asher's Hobgoblins received the ball first and things fall apart quickly. Having to use their team RR on a block and then the AG 4 hobgoblin failed to pick up the ball and it bounced away from the rest of the team. The wood elves bounced quickly and grabbed the ball into the hands of Foritan H'lan (ST 4 AG 5 wardancer). There was still a chance to take him down as an assit allowed a 1d block from a dwarf...however needed to gfi (which failed - used RR), then rolled a skull on the block. The elves scored quickly and the game was 1-0 in their favor. On the next kickoff things went better for Asher's Hobgoblins. A dp foul removed Foritan H'lan temporarily from play. The other wardancer and two other elves were in the CAS boxes and the treeman was KOed as well. Although the AG 4 hobgoblin continued to fail his ball pickups (failed first 3 attempts of the game). It was the new bull that grabbed the ball, Anita, she rumbled downfield for the TD. Only 4 elves remained on the pitch. However, both the wardancer and the treeman rose from the KO along with a line elf to bring their number up to 7 to start the second half.

In the second half, tied 1-1, it was the critical part of the game...the wardancer rolled double skulls on his blitz and was prone...Asher's Hobgoblins jumped at the chance to remove him from the pitch and likely secure victory. However, the gang foul from the dp was a stun only...and that would haunt us as we had no way to remove him from the pitch any more. The elves also made a mistake and allowed a blitz on their ball carrier, but the ball again bounced nicely for them right to another elf. However, now there were only 5 elves left on the field and the desperate heave downfield failed and the chaos dwarves were in complete control. The wardancer and another elf were stunned, the treeman was prone and out of the play, the fourth elf was prone as well...only the fifth elf remained and he was bracketed by several players. With Anita in possession of the ball and ready to rumble upfield for the stall and win...Afonon Nimunas (block and strip ball line elf) made some nice dodges (3+, 2+), then a 2d block against to strip the ball from Anita...a nice bounce and a 4+ pickup (used team RR here). Then another 3+ dodge, another 2+ dodge and a gfi...for the TD. If he had failed there, it was near certainty that the wood elves would have lost the game...instead they score get some reinforcements from the KO box and are back to work. 8 dice against the wardancer fail to drop him (half from tackle players), so he blitzs a 1d block on our ball carrier for a POW. We blitz the wardancer back with our MB/PO dwarf, but it fails to break armor - and the wardancer continues to haunt our every step. With our slow speed and inablity to break his armor, we struggled to push downfield. On T16, Breeze (AG 4 hobgoblin) whom was likely going to feed to to the bulls after the game, finally made the 2+ pickup and the 3+ pass to Anita. She made the 4+ catch and scampered in for the TD...the opponsing coach was screaming "that is unfair!" as Anita scored.

Both sides looked at each other - each believing they were seperated from victory by only the thinnest of margins....on the sidelines, Asher could be heard encouraging his team, "Remember this day! And wait for the rematch! On that day we will get our revenge!"
