“OCCS Orcland Wooden Shield 9/07 - round 1

With three straight losses nobody but the Organized Konfusion thought that the goblins would have any success in the Orcland Wooden Shield, but with some hired help in the form of Nobbla and Fungus the Loon and a quite crippled opponent there was a glimmer of light.

The Grandmother's Attack lost a played due to a drunken bar fight and wouldn't be able to afford too many players. The gobbos thought to capitalize on this by a huge foul war, but sadly the ref was a twisted chaos creature with eyes all over his body and Lucky_Eddy was too smart to get involved in the fouling. This lead to the goblins crippling themselves during the match. I think I had 5 or so players ejected. The only result from the fouls was the death of Florence. She was killed early on by Krepz (who got ejected), was saved by the apo and then finished off by Gritz (also got ejected) towards the end.

As for the game in general the Organized Konfusion seemed to have sold their soul to some evil demon in exchange for landing a lot of clean hits. It turned out that the evil demon was Nuffle though and being a bastard he made sure that none of the many clean blocks from trolls, goblins and Nibbla's chainsaw ever resulted in more than two KO's. And to spice things up he tortured the Konfusion with lousy luck. The trolls drooled when they had crucial throws and blitzes, the kickoff's were bad and not only put the ball in the hands of the opponents but also served up a perfect defense and a pitch invasion that took out one of the trolls. Fungus the Loon proved to be the most useless star player in the history of Blood Bowl when he on 5 turns ate up all 3 rerolls and then BH'd himself. Too bad he didn't die.

The result was a rather comfortable stall win for the Grandmothers and the Organized Konfusion maintains and improves their straight loss record.
