“This was one of those games you were going to lose, no matter what. Not only were the Scavvies the stronger team (just look at those gutter runners - they are highly annoying) in the first place, I had to face them without my prize Dragon Warrior Thalion, who was kept out of the match by his niggling injury. With his Tackle skill, he would have been an important player.
My (almost usual) lack of luck then pretty much decided it. The most extreme situation occurred in the second half, when I rolled FOUR skulls in a row. And of course I rolled them when a Gutter Runner was just inside scoring range and I took a 2d block on him. A double-skull - reroll - double-skull meant a guaranteed touchdown for him, of course.
Rookie dragon warrior Eglerion did what he could in his first match to make up for the absence of Thalion. He racked up a touchdown and a casualty in a pretty impressive performance, but the Champions were basically screwed.
On a side note, it was my first match involving the new WA rules, and I liked them - because I did not have one :P His Rat Ogre was pretty ineffective. But of course Elves have a decent dodging advantage and can leave him target-less much easier than other teams...”
