#4 Mnemon – Dead (RIP)
XFL II Elf 2nd round match:

One of the weirdest match I've ever had!
After more than 2000 games here on fumbbl you could think you've seen it all.... WRONG!
This match had all: good rollings, bad rollings, great moves, stupid moves, chainpush td, overtime, quad skulls block and of course lots of italian swearing on my side :DDDD
Probably the last one worked once again and gave me what I think it's a not well deserved win.
Some highlights (maybe I forgot something...):
* result 1-1, middle of 2nd half, Eltharian's Hearts with a good control of the ball decided to pass the ball to a catcher forgotting that a leaping pass blocker could indeed leap during a pass action move :D and my catcher did the rest \o/
I scored 2-1 last turn
* Very last sk8bcn's turn; why I didnt put 3 sidesteppers on LOS for the final turn still a mystery :] so I gave my opp the chance to try a chainpush td that of course worked ... eheheheh and Gary was ready for the suicide :)
* Overtime, sk8bcn receiving and cageing again with dump offer
* We Score More with a 1d leaping blitz on the dumpoffer snatching the ball and saying bye bye to the dumpoff catcher :)
* Gary's protecting the ball on turn 5, blitz, double skulls, reroll, double skulls.... gahhhhhhhh. Eltharian's Hearts recovering the ball and running with St4 catcher without coverage (turn 6)
* We Score More able to do a 2d blitz and regaining the ball, on turn 7 Eltharian's Hearts st4 catcher blitzing the ball carrier (no tackle), needed a pow with a reroll, no pows \o/
* Gary scoring on last turn (that required some blocks, a 2+ handoff and a 2+ dodge)

The match was long, intense, balanced and nuffled.
As I said before sk8bcn deserved to win, especially when the game went to OT due to my incompetence ;)
Still, a great match to remember

Great match indeed! and one of the weirdest I ever played too. I won last xlf against this team, so it was there the revenge. And they took it. On my opinion, well deserved by Gary.

I think I got lurred. I did well in half 1 to stall with caging, dump off option with NOS. What I failed to understand was that Gary decided to save his top catchers on the bench. He had 2 with leap. I missed that. It just worked good so after a 1-0 lead, after a quick 1-1 equalizer, I just thought: "stall him again and you have won".

Stupid me. The catchers more, with side-step and leap, just restricted my cage too mutch. And the 2 of the 3 tacklers I had were taken out, especially the str 4 MB one per foul. BH. I choosed not to apo (it was tough, the best choice).

I elaborated a plan to save me through a NOS pass to the blitzer. if he ran out of range it was a TD. The exact move was a hand off from my NOS player (covered with a TZ) to another NOS player next to him then that pass. The position of the passer was suposed to be another screen to save the blitzer from a back rush.

Guess what? Would I have passed first then hand off would it have worked. btw I really didn't knew you could leap on a pass block turn (huge combo, gotta write it down). That's why I am not one of the best fumbbler around. But I think I learned something.

So I lost. Did I thought. I tried to one turn. by pushing around a str 5 player. No clue how I managed to roll 2 dices on him on the full move. One of my seldom very good ideas when I play. 2-2

And I get the kick for overtime. I think I didn't learned the previous lesson. Again tried to use dump offing cage. Again failure. Well deserved loss.

But here too. I learned something. kinda. I did knew that I, sometimes, try the same plan failing again and again. This time, I note this word in my head, next to BLOODBOWL: VERSATILITY!

Thank for the game Gary. I know I ll remember this one. Real great game. Oh and, win the xlf, please!

I guess I found my rival team. :D
