“Well it was fine weather for a game as Drakenmoor Reapers lined up against PSV Zharr-Naggrund. The Chaos Dwarf's lineup came as a surprise to the understrength Reapers, who were expecting Dark Elves!
The Reapers opened with a deep corner kick that PSV spent most of the first quarter recovering from, with failed pickups, throw-ins and bouncing hobgoblins. The Rotters' beastmen rushed through into the backfield, causing havoc with PSV's drive, and it was only the speed their Bull Centaur 'Ace' that got the ball back to the line of scrimmage before he was knocked down by a beastman.
The game descended into the sort of brawl dwarves enjoy while the Reapers recovered the loose ball. They then tried a push down the right wing, only to find themselves close to being pushed out. A couple of long pass attempts failed, and both teams went in nil-nil at the half.
Player shortage proved to be a real issue for the Reapers at the beginning of the second half. PSV manage to open up the Reaper's offensive line and break through to put lots of pressure on the ball carrier. He dodged away to the left wing, only to find it filled with hobbos and bull centaurs, while the guard-heavy dwarves started to brawl again in field. The Reapers' beastman got hit and went down hard.
PSV recovered the ball but another beastman blitz knocked it free again, only for rookie bull 'Toro' Torino to recover it and head off downfield. It was now over bar the stalling.
A good win by PSV Zharr-Naggrund, and a good game by the Reapers, who defended well until their player shortage really started to tell in the second half. No Perms for either team, though two MNG for the rotters will be painful.”
