#15 Be Careful Where You Punch Me Or You'll Get Covered In Sputum – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#15 Be Careful Where You Punch Me Or You'll Get Covered In Sputum – Smashed Knee (NI)
It was all going kinda to plan.

Everything was crawling along. Just 3 turns to go until the end, and there was a bull near the ball. No problem, just knock him over and swarm him with beastmen, then stick the boot in. prone and then a stun. Next turn I decided not to foul, and probably should have caged. But nah, I decided to leave it be for a turn. Next turn I opened up with a block with my beast vs a troll. Two dice my pick yielded a bothdown and a skull. Darn. Pirog's players got neared, and then I decided I had to act. I decided to block the bull away from my beastman tides, then knock over the hobbo with the ball with a blitz. Okay, two dice my pick again... Lovely. Bothdown and a skull, and the bull has block. I go down, end turn, hobgoblin makes an easy T8 TD.

Lamest two turns ever.

Still, must stay upbeat, at least my FF didn't go down...

*edit* I mean lame in the sense that I failed two 2d blocks in a row and didn't even get a turn. In the first half you still made block rolls and stuff, you didn't fail anything like I did last two turns. edit war :O

This became a lesson in not giving up. The Skirmishers had an uphill struggle during 3/4 of the match, having a hard time landing blocks and seeing the opponents having the margins with them in almost everything they did.

Despite landing many mighty blows and gangfouling with dirty players all they achieved was a single casualty. Not even any KO's. Despite this they fought their way to a tie in the middle of the second half, knowing that they would face a difficult defensive situation.

But then the tide turned. While the rotters had their bashers tied up in the front, the rest gathered around Gloinus the Glorious for a mighty gang foul. This failed, and suddenly the Skirmishers were left in a great position to blitz the ball carrier. Gloinus got to his feet and together with a couple of chaos dwarves rushing to his aid he tied up a lot of the beastman players, while Tushnak could blitz the ball carrier and snatch the ball up.

The rotters had to rely on blocks with rookie players against the able Skirmishers to get hold of the ball and failed this, giving Tushnak a chance to run in a TD in the very last turn of the match.

A rough fate for the Stovaa and his men, but a glorious win for the Skirmishers!

Thanks for the match!

Edit: To be honest not much lamer than your entire first half, but I understand that it felt worse since I came from really bad luck to making the important rolls enough to win the match.
