PBI - Play-offs - Final

So it all comes down to this game.

I received... Goo hired Zara and I only had cash for Mad Eye. Goo defended well, then got the ball, and scored... making it a hard job to get the ball off those blodgers in 2nd half. Was helped by ref spotting Zara... however he also seemed to spot every foul as well!

Late 2nd half the casualties started to come, but my Mighty Blow CDs had done nothing all game until then... when it was too late. Mad Eye got spotted once 2nd TD was scored, and it was realistically game over... Tried a hand off to Centaur to get a consolation, but dice continued to be unhelpful. Ahh well... Purplegoo deserved to win, as much as I hate to say it... I think more guards helped him win the bash battle, but lack of early casualties made him go the distance. Nice final!...

Always the bridesmaid... :-)

#15 Sophitia – Dead (RIP)
Obviously we feared the worst going into this one, to get lucky against PeteW's CD's early in the season was great, lightning striking twice was better. Zara rolled up for the Zons (and was plain awful as usual), and Madeye made his first ever appearance for the CDs (that I've seen on a BB field). Ma5 blackle - fair enough, IMO.

Blitz! for the Zons started the game off, and we were able to but a bit of pressure on Wotfud early. He recovered quite nicely, but the nature of the blitz had meant that I could box up his Dorfs and immobilize his BTless Bulls such that I could use Guards to eek an opening. The second one worked, and after a couple of pinball turns, we got away to score in T7.

Second half, and with Zara ejected and a very short kick, we grouped very close together at midfield for a gangfoul. This gave Wotfud the chance to encircle the Zons, and left us needing dodges away from tackle for total safety. Somehow we seeped out to a wing, and with a great deal of fortune, a handy BH on a Hobbo and a dodge/GFI combo, got in for 2-0. At this point, the Zon av started failing, but it was too late for Wotford.

This game mirrored our whole season really, the only perm we've taken all season was a RIP in this game, which is very lucky with av7. We were probably the luckiest team in the tournament, and with the Amazon low TR advantages, we had a great shot. Very happy to win it, and I look forward to the 'beat/foul/destroy the Champ' games next season in Resident Evil. Cheers to Wotfud who played well in poor circumstances. Deadlier Than the Male? Dice wise, yar.
