“We almost choked on our Gummy Berries when Glum burst through the door and announced that the FUMBBL Premiership had started up again!

We snickered greatly when we heard that our first opponent would be a bunch of Halflings!

The weather was like the reception that our group commissioner had become accustomed to during our FUMBBL Premiership abstinence… frosty, which actually warmed us inside, given that those fat hobbits hobbled at best and lacked our grace.

But after saving for four freaking games last year to buy more Karma, we were annoyed that we were shit out of luck due to some Chef of all things!

The game started and the Halflings received. But being so hyped up we pounced before they had the chance, although the ball was too far out of our reach for conventional travel, we took to the air… badly hurting our rookie Gobo and thus doing little else. The hobbits got the ball to their Iron Man star and made a break to the flank. We cleared an Ogre free to make the blitz… but rather than squish the Halfling he just scratched his nads. The rest of the Gobos started to peel back to try and get a blitz at the next opportunity. The flings however had other ideas in mind and weren’t willing to hang about for too long and a slippery sprint to the end zone ended with him stunning himself. We gathered the ball and took it to the opposite end of the field to score… however, forced to leave a turn for the Halflings to TTM to tie, which they professionally.

In the last moments of the half we chose to beat on some Halflings and get some skull smashing experience than fail another TTM.

The second half saw us receive, and a kick close to the halfway line at the wide zone, followed by a perfect defence could have meant a tough recovery, luckily it bounced out and we gave the ball to Ogre, Dram. With the trees committed to the opposite edge of the field we strolled down bashing Halflings where we could. Annoyed, the Halflings started concentrating on our Gobos and gang fouling them… we quickly put them in check as we reminded them that we are far dirtier than some fat hobbits!

The game ended 2 – 1, with some valuable skills!

Tough game for Mira, and likely the first of a whole season’s worth to come.
I’ve never known an opponent say “grats” so many times in a game… “grats” when I got a blitz, “grats” when his Halfling fell over on my end zone, and without a RR and a whole pitch to travel I had much to do. “Grats” when the ball went out of bounds and “grats” on the 2 TDs! :D

Towards the close, when I suggested it may end in a draw due to another successful TTM by him, which with 2 turns remaining and 2 RRs to help I thought was doable – he did in the first half with less after all, he was less than impressed, and I was being serious too! :(

The failed GFIs really scuppered things for him.
