The 1st half starts off well for me - Thunder_Crack finds himself unable to pass the ball (a reoccurring theme throughout the game) and wastes two turns trying to do so. This gives me more than enough time to put pressure on the ball and finally pick it up and run in for the goal. 1-0.
Unfortunately, the end of the first, the dice go better for Thunder_Crack: although passes still elude his team, his ogre (who, it might be noted, managed to pass 20 bonehead rolls in a row before being BH by a mummy) manages to catch the fumbled pass.
The ogre loses the ball, but another one of the Slayer's players catches the fumble. I have the chance to prevent a score, but (foolishly, in retrospect) decide to try and free up more players by taking down one of Thunder_Crack's players. That player survives 2 2d blocks, then on the third block (which was only 1d, because I wasn't paying attention) skull - RR: skull. Ball is handed off to a blitzer (fumbled, RR: caught) and run in (1 GFI) for the tie. 1-1.
2nd half is pretty much a stalemate, although CAS continue to rack up against me, and regen fails all but 1 roll.
Overtime starts... I curse myself for letting him score in the first. Play is close, but despite both of us having 0 RRs, his blocks are much more potent than my own, as are his CAS rolls. He scores, with 3 rounds remaining for me to tie. 1-2.
Round 1: ghoul fails to pick up ball.
Round 2: ghoul picks up ball, passes (miss) to ghoul 2, who, however, catches the bounce. Ghoul 2 runs towards end zone, hoping blodge will save him. It doesn't - he goes down, and Thunder_Crack makes 2 more GFIs so that he's got a player guarding the ball. I still have a chance, but it involves a 1d block, a dodge, a pickup, and 1 or 2 GFIs.
Round 3: I don't even get past the 1d block: skull.
Game ends 1-2.
I counted 4 or 5 double skull blocks for me, 1 for Thunder_Crack, and 3 1d skulls for me, 1 for Thunder_Crack, despite his making more 1d blocks than I did.
Handicaps for me were Iron Man (saved my mummy once) and Bribe the Ref (used up on the very first foul.) I hate fouling - I'm just so remarkably poor at it.
