“My first match online. Somehow the curse of multiple fatalities followed me from the board :(
Both teams started with short start lines and ample reserves. Re-rolls were wasted early in the half to cover failed attempts to leave opponent tackle zones. At first the "Stuntys" had ill luck with their blocks which failed to down "Androgyne" Linemen. As the game progressed the elves got up faster and managed to keep distance to their slower opponents, who had trouble getting back up and into the line. Few gang-ups and fouls brought the injuries that led to the death of Hab and Grumbar. In turn the "Stuntys" played a much cleaner match and Roegel became a casualty after an ordinary block. Further ill luck for the "Stuntys" came as Grot the Bullcentaur ended up in KO'd box due to tackle early in the game. First goal for the "Androgynes" was made after they received the kickoff at match start and made a quick dash for the goal. Passing went on well and the left flank of "Stuntys" gave in letting elves through all the way to the goal. Remainder of the half became mere blocking and tackling after a blitz for the "Androgynes". The ball ended up close to center line at the rightmost edge of the table. The attempt to push through on right by "Stuntys" was foiled by Androgynes blocking and blitzing several hobgoblins off the field. Second half saw "Stuntys" avoiding the "Androgynes" who used their superior movement to swarm few Dwarf Blockers and tie down hobgoblins. After a more planned advance on the middle/left by the "Stuntys" it all ended up as a huge hand-to-hand before they made it past the middle line. Again luck played the ball on the hands of the "Androgynes" after a successful tackle, who scored the second goal just before the end of the match. The rest of the game became a sit-out as neither team wanted to take risks and there was no chance of reaching the goal in time.
All in all there were three deaths and little was gained by the slaughter. Both teams are worse off than they were at start.
Both thumbs up for "tribedown" who turned out to be a nice chap and a polite opponent. Strongly recommended as a friendly hobbyist and a noble opponent seeing it through even when nothing seems to work proper.
