#13 Back Breaka – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#13 Back Breaka – Smashed Knee (NI)
SWL Season XXII - Premier League - Round 2

We had just 11 players available for this match, so called on Zara the Prayer and a friend of hers to fill in. Certainly not up to the same level of ability as most of the other players on the team (including the pansies that decided to skip the match), but at least they filled in a couple of empty spaces.

The first half basically saw the woodies pick away at our players, one by one. Once we were down on numbers, that was pretty much it, and it was all we could do to protect the ball .. and unfortunately, we didn't quite manage to do that well enough, and with a show of elven agility, were able to score in turn 8. Good effort from the wardancers to stay alive, and keep pressure on the ball carrier.

The second half, saw the woodies receive, and due to a combination of bad luck, and overconfidence, we were able to recover the ball. Unfortunately, the woodie defence was too strong for us, and with dwindling numbers once again, we resorted to some fairly unconventional tactics. It wasn't too much of a surprise when they didn't work out, but then, it's pretty obvious that we weren't going to be able to grind our way through them.

It's tough to play against wood elves when they can out-bash you, out-run you, and outnumber you, and I reckon we did a decent job to keep them down to just one touchdown.

------------------- Twahnlow Votes -------------------
3 pts - #12 Le Franky
Numbers made a big difference in this game, and Le Franky was the one that did it. We really should have fouled him more, but if we had, the score would probably have ended 0-2 instead...

2 pts - #13 Neil George Wallington
Made the crucial dodges + pass to score the WDDs solitary touchdown.

1 pt - #8 Rus Love
Despite rather poor stats on the board (just 3 blocks for the match), this guy was a right pain in the backside. His combination of skills meant that we had to think twice about hitting him... and when you're playing woodies, you really do need to hit them.

4th time round for these Two teams and so far the Woodies have held the upper hand. Going into this match confidence was high as the W.F.W.O had taken quite a beating from the BBQ regulars in their last match.

With most the She Orcs big boys missing the Match the Men of Wood decided to go the Bash. The Orks recived in the first have and things got messy quickly. Big Gay Al and Neil George Wallington both got smashed by the deadly duo Face Maula and Knee Snappa with only the Elven Medical team keeping NGW alive! The big hits were returned with interest from Le Franky and Rainbow Warrior who managed to give the Woodies an early Numerical advantage.
Roxy Lobba was hiding behind a wall of Zons not really making much progress when Knee Snappa managed to KO her self will hitting Crowlockylockville. This gave Rainbow warrior a free reign on the fouling front and he managed to get Face Maula off the pitch as well. The She Orks were rattled they turned their tails and fled! Back Breaka took the ball as they tried to hold back the Men of Wood.
Crowlocylockville had a shot but failed then with on ly seconds left on the clock Le Franky stepped up and knocked the ball free. Neil George Wallington (showing he had recovered from his early beating) dived in grabed the ball and calmly threw it to Rainbow Warrior to score right on half-time.

With the 1-0 lead and recieveing the Kick-off the WDD got a licky cocky and overconfidence almost cost them the victory. Some early show boating by Le Franky left a huge gap for Back Breka and Co to run through and get the ball (Le Franky was very lucky indeed that Knee Snappa did not punish him more!). Crowlockylockville saved the day with a massive hit that would have killed Back Breaka if not for the club Apothacary coming to his rescue. Smoker J and Horse got the Ball free but instead of trying to consolidate they rushed up field. Horse showed his inexperience by throwing a pass to no one and the WFWO were right back in the game.
Le Franky then stepped up his game a notch and this time their was no-one to save Back Breaka. Smoker J once again got the ball out to Horse but with only seconds left on the clock the young fella stood their like a stunned mullet. Simpling running down field would have wrapped up the game for sure. Instead their were some nervous moments as the Orks almost stole a draw at the death. Thankfully without Roxy Lobba over the ball the pass was fumbled and the Woodies go 2-0 for the season.

Twahnlows

3pts: Hed Splitta - Did a very good job of looking after the Catchers and was in the thick of things right till the end

2pts: Back Breaka - Really was the go to girl for the Orks.

1pt: Face Maula - Was the only chick to do any damage to the Woodies plus almost scored the equaliser right on the siren.

Cheers for the game Lav it was a pleasure as always (4-0 makes for happy reading!) . Bu ti think he only reason i got away with this one was the fact that DC wrecked your team. Probably the worst coaching effort i have put in against your Zons and a good exaple of not getting overconfident and switching off.

All the best for the season mate!
