“this match started with nuffle laughing at both teams as the fans invaded the pitch and downed 2 players from each side
on the very first turn it seemed this would be a walkover from the vamps with a dead lineman and the rat ogre knocked out
followed a very good drive from the lords of the undead for a score from khan as usual
then the skaven got the ball and formed a good cage in scoring range for there deadly gutter runners. However the vamps weren't bothered as the skaven had only 1 blocker deep and they had hypnotic gaze. 3 failed hypno gaze rolls later and the cage was still in tact. Score for the skaven.
With the ball back in the hands of the vamps they again went for the drive. With a solid cage formed they made the mistake of allowing the fernzied rat ogre to get to the ball carrying blodging vamp. The vamp was assisted though but 2 1dbs later the rat ogre had pushed him off the pitch and the ball fell to a skaven player. An easy score followed as they broke with lightening speed. 2 - 1 to the rats.
second half began with the skaven getting the ball, some skillful blocking and remembering hypno gaze meant the vamps just couldn't get at the ball carrier before the skaven were in range. 3 - 1 skaven.
well the vamps only had 2 turns to score and regain some pride after some poor luck combined with good solid play from the skaven opponents had left them 3 - 1 down and seemingly out of it. Starting with a 2db to open up one of the flanks double skull. Re roll and another double both down. Mistake from the vamp coach as i should have made sure i was using a blocker. Down the player went and the vamps didn't have the ball yet. Skaven nipped in to get the ball and another lightening 2 turn break which the vamps tried and failed to stop, boom, 4 - 1.
don't think we played so bad but it didn't happen when we needed it to on the dice rolls, especially hypno gaze which seemed to fail almost every time despite the 3+ target. My vamps are away to specsavers to watch out next time, they will be wearing glasses.”
