“very solid placement & strategy from schknarf's opening blitz onwards left me struggling to find any way to push my dark elves through his lines (several turns had me deciding which 1d block to attempt - there was nothing less risky!). However after much dodging (risky business) I was able to make a push up one line which the humans responded to with a mass of players totally surrounding the blitzer with the ball. In true dark elf fashion he dodged backwards, handing off to a lineman who threw the ball to the other sideline where a couple dark elves moved up towards the far corner. This would be the last turn where I felt reasonably confident in the game. Schknarf managed to stop me scoring there and what followed was a massive brawl around the sideline and the ball, but the humans definitely had the upper hand with many darkelves being puched off the pitch. In the last turn of the half the humans were unlucky not to score, failing the last handoff in the sequence.

0-0 at half time but I already had less players than him to set up with & things didn't look good. Somehow in one sided punchfest near my TD line where the humans had a big numbers advantage I managed to snatch the ball and throw upfield to a waiting blitzer .. who managed to not catch the accurate pass! Fortunately it turns out he was just showing off as the following turn, with no less than 3 humans standing around him and the ball he knocked one down, grabbed the ball and dodged into the endzone.

Amazingly 1-0 up and only a few turns left I couldn't believe I was winning! However schknarf made the best of an injury time roll to get an extra turn in the half and piled forwards to equalise.

Great game, only regret being Pestis getting niggled (and retired). Play you again sometime!”
