“A very close game that, in the end, basically hinged on which way a ball fell. If it had fallen towards my dwarves, I probably would have won, if it'd fallen off the map... well, anything could've happened, but I had more players, so it probably would've favored me.
But nope, it fell in the one square where I didn't have any players, allowing the Reavers to pick it up, and, with some pretty easy rolls, move the ball far enough down the field that I couldn't touch them.
grampyseer made some really gutsy plays, (like a 1d blitz, dodge, dodge, GFI, GFI with his dodgeless catcher...) but his dice held out, and he got away with it.
I'm just annoyed at his LOS players. Three times he lined them up. Three times my dwarves blocked like the vicious, frenzied hairballs that they are... and three times his players got away without me even breaking their armor.
Lost a FF, gained a +st player... a decent exchange.”
“Very exciting game, against a savvy dwarven coach.
I did my best to only roll dice for dodging and ball handling, rather than blocking the beardos, and it payed off.
The final spot of luck was a lucky bounce after my ball carrying blitzer was sacked. I was lucky enough to sidestep to a more secure square, and that went a LONG way towards securing the bouncing ball.
Man did I ever get off light on the casualties. He inflicted 4 badly hurts !! ”
