Prophane’s Nashers vs Mercutioh’s Menzoberranzan Mercenaries

The game opens to a nice crowd of 76k under a sunny sky perfect for Blood Bowl.
As the crowd cheers for the start of the match, the team doctors both make their statements: One player from each team will not be playing due to injuries. The crowd chants as the names are announced: #16, Biff, the Nashers Thrower and #1 Drizzt Do’Urden, the Dark Elf Blitzer and team Captain.
It was also announced that the Nashers #8, Craig, was being detained by the authorities under suspicion of vandalizing the Menzoberranzan Mercenaries team bus before the game.
So when the Nashers eventually kicked off to the Darkies, the player count was Nashers 10 and Menzoberranzan Mercenaries 12. Even with a numerical disadvantage, the Nashers could see the fear in the dark eyes of their Drow adversaries. The kick was true but went right into the hands of an eagerly awaiting Dark Elf, who quickly moved the ball up the field and tossed to a waiting receiver. Unfortunately the ball never made it to his hands and chaos ensued. Guarding orcs quickly moved in and made a defensive wall around the ball and several Dark Elves. The agile Mercenaries tried several times to regain the ball and slip away, but the educated Nashers used every trick they had learned in school and brought the Drow down. By the end of the first half, many Drow had left the field, (2 BH and 1 KO) and rookie Blitzer, #7, Mongomery, moved into the endzone for his first ever TD. The half time show was enjoyable, but the blood-thirsty crowd demanded for the game. The reluctant 9 remaining Mercenaries then kicked off to 10 hungry looking greenskins. The end of the Menzoberranzan Mercenaries first drive set the tone for the rest of the game as Witch Elf and team Matron, Malice Do’Urden stunned herself on the armor Troy the BOB. Agile Lineorc Carlton swiftly brings the ball up to behind a big pile of Orcs and Drow. The Dark Elves, never ones to give up, all leap to their feet and dodging here and there, eventually making a blitz on the ball carrier, but just manage to move him a little farther down the field. The dark elves then pull back to avoid further injuries as Carlton pushes his way toward the endzone. The from out of nowhere, Blitzer Ko’Sun Armgo blitzes Carlton around his blocker and manages to knock the ball free though cannot get the rest of his team in position to pick it up. The rest of the team appears more concerned with saving their own dark skin than going after the ball. Orc Blitzer Franklin then tries to scoop the ball up as his teammates surround him, but the ball eludes his grasping green fingers. Attempting to take advantage of this agile Dinin Do’Urden broke free of his defender and ran for the ball. Instead of picking up the ball though, he managed to trip and fall, injuring himself and being taken to the sidelines for the rest of the game. Franklin tries again and managed to pick up the ball then move into the endzone for the Nashers 2nd TD of the game, sealing up the win with only a few turns to go. Pumped up by their eminent win, the Nashers kick off one last time, then promptly blitz, moving a player toward where the ball is to land and making one quick swipe at the remaining Witch Elf. The Mercenaries recover quickly and utilizing their speed and agility quickly move a player into scoring position and go for the ball, managing to hurt Rookie Blitzer Montgomery in the process. The pass is cut short by pass blocker Stuart, who gets in the way and knocks down the ball. The Orcs make a few more blocks, but don’t manage to get the ball, allowing the Dark Elves one last chance to grab the ball and that’s just what they do, getting the ball to Gromph Baenre for a TD, making the final score 2-1 Nashers.
