“Wotfudboy is fast becoming one of favourite opponents to play against… not just because he never has time to play me at night when I ask… but does anyway, and then goes on to write a Match Report afterwards… :)
But they’re fun too.
I was delighted to see Zons back on the menu after it was Wotfudboy and his beloved Zons that recently defeated my baffled Ogres.
What could make it better?
Get the Ref? – Hmm, maybe.
Two Get the Refs? Now you’re talking!
As important a game it was for Wotfud, it was equally important for us, sure we had already secured the title… that was never in doubt, our challenge was to remain undefeated for two seasons running. So, when he bought a wizard, we also bought a wizard, eye for an eye… oh, except of course for the Ref’s, we’d be having none of that this game. :D
Wotfud cringed at the GTR, but did what any coach in his position would do, 100% foul retaliation… I even stopped fouling him at one point as he seemed to be fairing better at it, until I could get to his DP and take her out, in the hopes that he would stop too with the eye on him… he didn’t. :)
He scored easily, and quickly, despite a Wizard duel for 1 – 0.
I eventually caught his DP and took out of the game then broke to the other flank to tie it at half time.
By the second half he was rather beat up, and we easily scored as the Girls fled from us to make it 2 – 1. A quick score left time for another one.
Our kick and our second GTR. We took pity on the girls and despite a sole tactical foul to clear a would be blitzer of our rookie CD, we ceased sticking the boot in and completed a third TD!
GG all in all but the odds were massively stacked against Wotfudboy, and I’m sure he won’t remember our mercy when next we meet. :)

I needed an outright win to get into the four-way promotion play-off. Sera had already won the conference and was playing for a 100% unbeaten record. If I drew the game Ludo would get into the playoffs as his rats beat me earlier in the season.
With 12 players to start with (the niggles passed their fitness tests) it was going to be very very hard against a strong Chaos Dwarf side...
To start with, one experienced dwarf pleaded "it wasn't me", and was carted off by the authorities... one down...
Then I received, and was forced to score quickly after both teams wizards were used by the ball carrier. 1-0. A glimmer of hope.
Then Sera got the ref... and it was game over...
Between splats and fouls my team quickly fell to pieces... and the equaliser came failry easily. 1-1
I thought I had weathered the storm fairly well going into the 2nd half... but then, Sera got the ref once again!!
The 2nd TD was easy... 1-2
I tried to make a come back... making a darting run down the sidelines... but it was too much for the ag4 dodge catcher zon to make the 3 dodges required...
Taking his time to clear the field of anyone of any threat, Sera strolled in for his 3rd, handing off to a chaos dwarf.
The result... a clear and deserved win for Sera, and 10 players for me to field next game, assuming 2 of the now 3 niggles are fit. There are 4 players mng, so a friendly is very much required. 30k from the game means 70k to spend on players... and I really need 90k for another blitzer. In hindsight I shouldn't have bothered with the wizard and bought a player for the long term, but you always like to think you might have a chance no matter how small!
