“PBI - Underworld Conference II - Round 3

This match was a bit of a blur to be honest... all I know is that I felt tense throughout. I know that Unstoffe threw a large spanner in the works for Phil78 by beating him... so I knew his team and style of play was a serious threat.

The handicaps didn't help Unstoffe much with Bad Press and Virus... no niggles on the team as yet.

With the rain pouring down in the 1st half the game was a slow stuttering affair, with a Blitz! putting the advantage Unstoffe's way. However a lucky bounce saw Taur Spikehoof collect the bouncing ball, and he managed to hang on to it and eventually break away to score in turn 8... 1-0.

The second half was a half of fouls... those little scaley gits scared the hind leg hair off my Centaurs... Snort was SI'd with, but the ball carrier was next to him with a possible blitz next turn, so I used the apoth... unfortunately, after doing the hard work of blitzing, taking the ball carrier down, picking up the ball and getting away, a double 1 gfi meant he was prone again... and the lizards hissed in delight as the 3rd foul in a row went in... this sent the Bull off the pitch and out of next game... but the ref spotted the offence... only to be persuaded out of it when the Krox threw him a mean look.

It looked to me like the lizards would draw... but some last ditch plays meant the lizards were too deep in their own half to mount a counter attack... finally leaving the ball on the floor in 1 TZ, enough for Sly to go in, pick it up and dodge out again for a TD. 2-0 and game over.

Was a tough game which I think I was lucky to win in the end, or at least not be more players down! I have to make sure I don't lose my last game against Phil78 to get through to the play offs.
