On a day where everything were in sync the charismatic idols of Peasantville - The Working Class Heroes (WCH) - overcame all odds, beating the favorites RBK 2-0.
To say RBK were the favorites is almost an understatement, because this team on paper were virtually unopposed after the Orca-Cola Chieftains failed to secure a place in the play-offs.
Led by an ever present Lenin, WCH's defense was like a wall of concrete. Lenin helped his team by making 3 casualties on the day. Most of these casualties were not made with clean blocks, but it was an intense final where both teams wanted badly to win.
Quarterback Karl Marx on the triumph: "What makes this day so special was that it was a victory by the People for the People. At first we where just happy to be in the Finals but as the game progressed we all just started to believe, staying positive. On any given Sunday...remember?"
With the victory in hand the team looks forward to defending the title next year. Winning the cup also moved WCH up to 3rd place in the league, and a league title doesnt look like an impossible task -because if there is something this team now has learned it must be that nothing is impossible.
Good game - stay positive.”
