“The Boyz kicked off to the much more experienced but depleted Dark team and could do little to stop them scoring despite temporarily stealing the ball (I didn't pay attention and left one space where he could get a two dice blitz if he leaped in his Guard guy to assist another leaper with an attack on my ball carrier, if I had moved my last Guard player to the back corner it would be a one dicer).
The Boyz on their kickoff advanced the ball carefully after seeing the leaping prowess of Dark. The Boyz found the going slow as at first they had great difficulty with their blocking.
However, the Boyz soon found their hitting range as they injured two Dark players. Dark still played great defence and in the end it was too much for the Boyz who's only possible TD scorer tripped getting into the end zone to set up a possible long pass TD. (He made his 4+ and 3+ dodge, then failed his 2+ to get into the open and KOd himself!).
In the second half, the Boyz advanced the ball carefully again. Dark continued to attack the ball and even managed to knock it loose once but the Boyz were able to recover.
With a strong numerical advantage, the Boyz handed the ball off to the Ogre M'Gork'Thrak'Thunderfist (what a mouthful!!!) and he eventually scored after dropping the first catch.
The Boyz could have run down the clock a bit more to secure the draw, but were concerned that M'Gorg... well the big fella might forget where he was so they hurried him into score the equaliser.
Dark had one last chance to score, and they almost did it,, passing to a player deep in the Boyz territory. However, the would be scorer tripped on his way to the end zone and the game was a draw.
-----------
A fun tight match. I almost lost there despite Sinner only haveing 6 players to kick off with, but that is what you get when you play against an experienced Elf team.
I had a ball of a time as I racked up 5 completions and 4 CAS and an Ogre TD so I didn't care if I lost.
Next time Sinner, next time!”
